Class Assignment

Below are some personal photographs from my web site, we will use them for editing practice in class. These photo's are my personal property, please do not re-use them in any other way, or post them to your website without permission.

Open the URL's in Netscape. Be careful, you need to do the tasks EXACTLY as listed below. For the purpose of this class, copy, download, and create in your personal folder you created in section 2. Use ONLY Netscape, Notepad, Microsoft Photo Editor, and MS Paint.

Exercise 1:

Open In Netscape: TJeff1.jpg
Right click to "save as" to your local folder, and open the file up in MS Photo Editor, What size is the graphic?

Crop the image if you like, resize if needed. Create an image that is NO MORE than 150 pixels wide, and NO MORE than 30 kb in size.

Exercise 2, Cropping, resizing, rotating.

Open In Netscape: classtest.jpg

Your instructions are to "cut" these images apart and save them as 2 separate image files ready for use on a web page. Save the image to your hard drive and open in Photo Editor.

Crop each image and save from the original from if you like, resize as needed, and do a "save as". Save one image as pony.jpg and one image as girl.jpg In each case, create an image that is exactly 200 pixels wide, and NO MORE than 30 kb in size.

Exercise three transparencies, and colors.

In the next two exercises you will create 2 new graphics. One will help you to learn to create transparencies, the other will show you how to use Huey, and color, and fills.

First carefully read the proper document for some instructions to complete the 2 projects below:

You will use the source code from this document (sample2.htm) to produce a document on your hard drive.
