C was developed by Dennis Ritchie and Brian Kernighan at Bell Labs in the early 1970s and is still in common use today. To support re-usability of programs written in the language, C was enhanced to create a new language, C++. C++ shares many of the language elements of C but includes features that support the creation of re-usable code known as objects.

Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP)

A server-side, HTML embedded scripting language used to create dynamic Web pages.
Script is similar to Perl and C, and is enclosed in special PHP tags.
Tags can be mixed with regular HTML tags so PHP code is needed only where a dynamic portion of the page is desired.
Compatible with many types of databases and can perform any function a standard CGI program can. PHP is shipped standard with a number of Web servers, including RedHat Linux.
